Well Hung Gallery‘s current exhibition, ‘The Modest Magnificent’, is taking place from Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th September at The Hoxton Arches in London. The show showcases a diverse collection of artworks by the gallery artists, from the established to the up-and-coming. It encompasses art in all forms and mediums, cleverly combining contemporary genres, including figurative, abstract and street art all under one roof in an expansive urban setting.

Zabou was invited to paint the front of the venue, a large space shaped by the arch. She created a double portrait of her model, Shannon: on the left, she’s looking back at herself appearing slightly worried, whereas on the right she’s looking forward with confidence. The artwork conveys this important message: learn from the past and trust yourself in the present.

L’exposition collective ‘The Modest Magnificent’ présentée par Well Hung Gallery, est actuellement visible à l’espace The Hoxton Arches jusqu’au Dimanche 18 Septembre. L’exposition regroupe une collection d’oeuvres de différents artistes de la galerie, des plus reconnus aux débutants, et combine des genres contemporains variés tels que le figuratif, l’abstrait ainsi que l’art urbain.

Zabou fut invitée à peindre la devanture de la galerie pour l’occasion, un grand espace en forme d’arche. Elle a créé un double portrait de sa modèle, Shannon: sur la gauche, elle regarde derrière elle d’un air inquiet tandis que sur la droite elle regarde devant elle avec confiance. L’oeuvre transmet un message important: nous devons apprendre du passé et nous faire confiance dans le présent.
