February 2016 2
Last year I travelled to Berlin for the ‘Berlin Rising’ paint jamm at Teufelsberg which gathered around 40 artists from UK and Germany. This year I headed back to the capital to paint at Urban Spree and Urban Nation, two organisations promoting street art.

Urban Spree is an artistic space dedicated to urban cultures through exhibitions, artist residencies, DIY workshops, concerts, an art store and a large Biergarten. I painted the entrance door with a piece entitled ‘In Art We Believe’, depicting a girl praying while carrying a paint bucket and roller.

Urban Nation aims to bring together artists that shape and enrich urban spaces in neighbourhoods around the globe. Their headquarters, based in South Berlin, became my playground for a couple of days. I painted this boy, very serious looking, reloading his paint pistol. Game on!

I’m honoured to be part of the group show ‘XX: A Moment In Time’, which features female street and graffiti artists from around the globe. It is curated by Olly Walker and Yasha Young. The exhibition runs from the 4th February until the 6th March at the prestigious Saatchi Gallery in London, alongside a major exhibition of contemporary art by female artists, ‘Champagne Life’.
The artists featured in the exhibition include Aiko (Japan/USA), Alice Pasquini (Italy), Caratoes (Belgium/Hong Kong), Crajes (Spain), Elle (USA), Faith47 (South Africa), Handiedan (Netherlands), Hera (Germany), Hueman (USA), Lora Zombie (Russia), Madamoiselle Maurice (France), Marina Zumi (Argentina), Martha Cooper (USA), Mimi S (Germany), Miss Van (France), Olek (Poland), Sandra Chevrier (Canada), Vexta (Australia) and Zabou (France).
I had the opportunity to paint a mural inside the Saatchi store entitled ‘In Art We Trust’.
